I was wondering how I could remove unecissary extras in a menu, then deactivate the menu button that "links" to it.

That is, I use dvd shrink to remove movie trailers for example on some originals I own, but when i do that the button that links to them still functions and it goes to a black screen when I put the copy into my dvd player.

Also, is there any way to remove movie trailers/previews that start before the actual movie.. I always find it to be a pain in the butt, an example would be the 4 brothers dvd I own.. its about 10min worth of previews

My buddy wrote the following to me.. is it true?

That’s to much work… your best bet is just to rip the DVD to your pc then use CLONEDVD its as simple as unchecking all that crap and it makes the links blank… so when you click them nothing happens and stays in the same menu. You don’t have to rip them to your PC CLONEDVD allows you to also copy direct from the cd.

Give it a try mike… youll be surprised how easy it is just as easy as dvd shrink if not easier… its kind of a wizard mode soo it doesn’t confuse you with any BS.

Using vobblanker is a lot more work.

If using dvdshrink , and have button's left behind that dont do anything ... well there is not much you can do .

Still menu's are easier to edit than motion menu's ... although just thinking on the subject I think's I have that figured out allready ... I am fast .

For those button's in the mean time ... till guide writen for them , do this .

Rip your dvd to hd .
Open ripped dvd in pcgedit .
    Let it scan .

Look at left column , see any ?b (these show button's)

Right click on them and chose menu button's .
You will now see your button's in the menu .
Click on button you wish to stop .
    Click that big bar with 00 00 00 00 00 00 , under the menu picture .
Now in new window , go to "alphabetical" , choose nop .

When all button's that you want to not do anything have been set to "nop" , save dvd , and burn .

They will still be there , but dont do anything .

Now to write the guide on rebuilding the menu's with original button's ...

There's a few ways, but some folk (myself included ) wonder if it wouldn't be easier to just reauthor? If you've got to P/Shop the menu anyway...
